Still Zakka Alonging

Well, here and there at least, when I can.

This week's project was My Scrappy Box and it caught my interest because I want to make a bunch of boxes to store my scraps so I'm trying out different patterns. This was my first one. I used scraps from a commission I'm working on right now. I tend to do that - grab whatever's on my sewing table at the time.

My Scrappy Box

Yeeeeaaaah....no.

Too much hand sewing for this lazy so and so. And I think some of the dimensions for cutting are off too - my side pieces ended up being narrower than I think they are supposed to be. That could also be what we love calling "operator error" at the office.

Anyway, I cobbled it together and it turned out fine. Sometimes that's all you can ask for, you know?

It's part of the Zakka Along 2.0: Patchwork, Please! sew-along - check out the flickr pool here!

    1. Hi Ellen, thanks for your kind words!

Yes! The instructions are in the book Patchwork, Please! by Amy Takahashi. If you click through to the Flickr group from the link in my post, you will find all the details.

  9. love the fabrics you used for the box! very summery feel to it. The box doesn't look very big tho, so how many scraps would it hold? Also I was wondering what have you used to support the shape?

  10. You did a great job on the scrappy box! I haven't even started it yet...I've read in a few places that the measurements are off in the directions!
