Hello! A special welcome if you're visiting because of Blogger's Quilt Festival - I sure do enjoy these online quilt shows that Amy has organized!
I always seem to have a finish very close to Blogger's Quilt Festival but I never can wait to share it so I end up (re)sharing something that is pretty recent. Oh well! I invite you to click on the tab under my header called Quilts - it will take you to a gallery of sorts and you can check out my other stuff if you like.
Here's New Wave! This project was begun in January 2011, about a year after I started this blog. I cut out all the pieces and then the project sat in a plastic box for more than two years (!!!!!) before I finished it. It wasn't an urgent finish - like for a birthday or birth of a baby or what have you - so it kept getting bumped from the to-do list by other, more urgent projects.
But I never stopped loving the fabrics or the design (by Elizabeth Hartman of Oh, Fransson!). So I finally just made the time to finish it up and I'm so glad I did.
The back is two of my favourite Ikea fabrics - I love their fabrics because they're inexpensive and extra-wide.
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of the Festival!
Quilt Size: about 60"x67"

ReplyDeleteI'm glad you finally had a chance to finish this quilt, it's really fabulous! I really like your photos too.
ReplyDeleteOOoooh, pretty fabrics! Great job, Felicity - and always nice to finish up a long-term project. I've really got to do more to get an IKEA in town here, or make more regular trips out-of-province to get to one.
