Friday Felicities

Happy Friday, everyone! For the first time, this weekend is a long weekend for us here in the province of British Columbia. We've joined Alberta, Manitoba, Prince Edward Island, Saskatchewan and Ontario in having a statutory holiday Monday in February called Family Day. Whee!
I'm also really happy with this little make that you may have seen in my January roundup of projects.

Triple Zip Front

I made this sweet little triple-zip pouch in the Triple Zip Along hosted by Debbie A Quilter's Table. There's still time to make one of these and add it to the Flickr group to be eligible for prizes!

Here's the back:

And the interior:

I had lots of fun using some precious Mendocino scraps for this project. I'll use my pouch in my purse, I think.

  5. Family day in Ontario is the 18th but I have family in B.C. So technically shouldn't I also get this Monday off too! And my mom was from Saskatchewan so I think that day is mine also. My BIL is in Nova Scotia so they better board this bandwagon so I can get that day as well. At least today is a snow day so I'd best not complain. Love the mermaid triple zip, I think that's on the cutting board for me today as I watch the snow fly.

  7. Family Day hooray! While I don't get the day off I do get time and a half. My husband has the day off though, so he can keep Macy occupied :-)
I adore your mermaid pouch. Will you actually get to keep it? Or will a certain girl decide that it's hers?

  10. Oh, that's great you are keeping this sweet pouch, I thought you were going to gift it to your niece and I was worried she just wouldn't appreciate the collector value of this fabric ;). I had to laugh when someone commented on one of your pics "you're going to use mendicino in the LINING TOO?!" It turned out beautifully. You may want to Scotch Guard it against grabby fingers at QuiltCon!

  12. I love that!! I love those seahorses but I started quilting after the fabric was a huge hit and everyone bought it up. I need to check etsy again to see if anyone has anything at a reasonable price. I made my triple zip with pink Bella fabric. I need to post today and add to the linky.

  16. That triple zip is near the top of my list of things I want to try...when I finally get motivated to get back into my sewing room that is. Your choice of Mendocino makes it so cute--love orange and aqua together!

I *love* comments, and I try to respond to every one by email (but I can't if you're a no-reply blogger!). So go on, don't be shy - leave one to let me know you've stopped by!
