WIP Wednesday, Recovery Edition

Folks, the retreat was a total blast. TOTAL blast. Kristie-OCD has some great recap posts going on her blog - check them out! I'll have a few words to share later in the week, but here's a hint as to the late night shenanigans that we got up to:

Top row: Sindy, Krista (K2)
Bottom row: me, Kristie (K3.5), Krista (K1)

But it wasn't all shoe shopping and human pyramids! I got lots of stitching done, most of it not even on my Projects list. Whooops! Here's a sampling of my productivity:

A pincushion for our pincushion swap with KCMQG:

This little sweetie is only about 4" square. That paper piecing was "fun" but I do love the effect.

A thread catcher pincushion, made using Elizabeth Hartman's tutorial from Sew Mama Sew.

A cover for my sewing machine (this one will get its own post with more photos):

So nothing got knocked off my To Do list, but I don't mind - I had fun stitching what I wanted to be stitching, and that's what it's all about!

Linking up to WIP Wednesday with Lee at Freshly Pieced and Monika at TN&TN!

  1. Oh, what a bunch of fun projects you finished, in spite of the distraction of having your friends around! All the projects are adorable, but the thread catcher pincushion makes me green with envy, and that little paper pieced pincushion is fantaaaaaastic!

  2. Hey, that fabric on the sewing machine cover looks familiar! You weren't kidding when you said you wanted to get to work with it! I'm impressed with everything you got done. They're all really great!

  3. Oh I love your thread catcher - I think I might have to pop over to Elizabeth's tutorial and add one to my ever-growing list of WIPs!

  5. You guys are crazy!!! Looks like you all had a grand old time at retreat!

Love the non-to-do-list stuff you made. :) Specially that little pincushion. So pretty!!

  6. I love the thread catcher, amazing how that concept has caught on in the last few years, I have seen so many variations of it!

I have been thinking and not doing a sewing machine cover -- I really dislike that plastic on that came with my machine when I bought it! Maybe it is time to actually DO ONE!

  7. Hey! You made project for YOURSELF!! Good for you. My sewing machine would love to have a pretty cover, but I just have trouble putting myself on the top of the priority list. Always something else takes precedence. Your pinnie is totally cute, and I have been wanting to make a thread catcher cushion. Love the projects you shared.

  12. That little pin cushion is stinkin' cute! I also made the thread catcher but failed to use interfacing so it's too slouchy. ;D

I *love* comments, and I try to respond to every one by email (but I can't if you're a no-reply blogger!). So go on, don't be shy - leave one to let me know you've stopped by!
