A Bee Block

I'm in just one Bee this year. January's blocks are being made for Lynne of Lily's Quilts using her own LynneBobSquarePants tutorial.

The piecing gods weren't happy with me this weekend when I was trying to put this together. I took out one seam no fewer than 3 times! But in the end, I am happy with the block (more than I can say for my rather fuzzy photo - I clearly should be using my tripod). The solid is Kona Charcoal - an absolutely gorgeous alternative to black, which I find can be too stark against brights.

  1. It's beautiful! I liked using that solid too even though it's darker than what I usually go for. Clearly you need a Mark made seam ripper..then it would have been a pleasure to rip :)

  3. I love the look of that block so much...however, I didn't enjoy putting it together as much as I like how it looks. =) I've made two for a bee...

  5. Looks great, Felicity! I'll have to get some charcoal and try it with some of my brights.

I *love* comments, and I try to respond to every one by email (but I can't if you're a no-reply blogger!). So go on, don't be shy - leave one to let me know you've stopped by!
