I'm in just one Bee this year. January's blocks are being made for Lynne of Lily's Quilts using her own LynneBobSquarePants tutorial.
The piecing gods weren't happy with me this weekend when I was trying to put this together. I took out one seam no fewer than 3 times! But in the end, I am happy with the block (more than I can say for my rather fuzzy photo - I clearly should be using my tripod). The solid is Kona Charcoal - an absolutely gorgeous alternative to black, which I find can be too stark against brights.
It's beautiful! I liked using that solid too even though it's darker than what I usually go for. Clearly you need a Mark made seam ripper..then it would have been a pleasure to rip :)
ReplyDeleteIt's so beautiful!! I love the bright colors with the dark solid!
ReplyDeleteI love the look of that block so much...however, I didn't enjoy putting it together as much as I like how it looks. =) I've made two for a bee...
ReplyDeleteYours is beautiful with the black!
Yep. I have one of these on my to-do list too! Yours turned out great.
ReplyDeleteLooks great, Felicity! I'll have to get some charcoal and try it with some of my brights.
ReplyDeleteGreat block - it's lovely!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! this is one of my favorite block designs!
ReplyDeleteWow, this is a real eye catcher! So striking, I love it!
ReplyDelete"LynneBobSquarePants" has to be one of the best names EvAR! Hee, hee!
