Pants!

Pants! I made some!

Using this super-easy tutorial, I whipped up some pajama pants for my ever-growing 3-year old. Yay, me! As part of the process, I:
  • rethreaded my serger.
  • made a garment without a pattern.
  • sewed with jersey.
...all things I've been kind of intimidated to do. I tried jersey (relatively successfully) one other time but this garment actually has finished hems so I figure I'm getting better.

Oh! And! Notice how the front waistband is a little lower than the back? I'm so fancy.

Linked up to Fabric Tuesday on Quilt Story (where my mugrug project was featured! Whee!!!).

  1. Hooray! Congratulations for getting past your fears. That's cool that you have a serger. I've never used one!

  3. Good for you!! I'm super impressed - jersey makes me want to hide under my sewing desk and not come out until it's far, far away :)

  4. You *are* fancy! I have sewn with jersey a few times, with relative success. It wasn't as hard as I thought, but at the same time I didn't find it quite as easy as everyone else claims. I think it's actually just more forgiving than "easy" - at least for me! :)

And this reminds me that I need to get moving on some leggings for *my* ever-growing 3 year old!

  5. Facing some fears helps you to face others I have found. You will be a fearless woman before too long! Lovely work and I'm sure your 3 year old will appreciate lovely warm pants.

  6. You are far more brave than I. I sew skirts for my girls, but I'm terrified of pants. Great job!
