Friday Felicities

Why do I keep forgetting how much I love the quiet work of hand quilting? This week's Felicity is slow quilting.

Consider this my week's WIP post, too!

In keeping with the slow theme, I wish you the very calmest of weekends. Much of mine will be spent loving on this little poppet (wearing a dress that's a couple sizes too small but far too precious to put in the "giving away" bag just yet).

  1. Pretty, pretty quilting, Felicity!! I love it! Thanks for the calm weekend wishes - we're suffering through a wicked case of pinkeye plus a cold at our house, so I'm hoping for a quiet weekend, too. :)

  2. What a sweet little girl! And I love your hand quilting! Is there a pattern for those cranes? My traditional guild is doing a challenge with japanese crane fabric and that pattern might be perfect...

  7. I love your version of Laurraine's paper cranes on the grey - so striking. And the hand stitching, yes, I must find a project to do some soon. I know i love it once I get going, but it's the inertia I have to overcome to get started on a long term commitment!

Have a great weekend with little miss G.

  8. Your hand quilting is looking beautiful, Felicity! I haven't hand quilted in a long time, but I'm feeling like doing some. It's so calming.

Your little girl looks adorable in her Valentine's dress!

  9. Your hand quilting is beautiful and I agree, being a little small is no reason to put away an adorable little dress.

  10. I know what you mean about the slow-quilting... Plus, there's just something magical about a hand-quilted quilt that just can't be reproduced by machine...

I *love* comments, and I try to respond to every one by email (but I can't if you're a no-reply blogger!). So go on, don't be shy - leave one to let me know you've stopped by!
