Today, I Quilted

And not just today. Yesterday and the day before and the day before that (thank you long, long weekend!). Now I didn't quilt ALL day each of those days (those people I live with expect some face time - seriously affects my productivity, folks!), but I did quilt. Behold:
This Hungry Caterpillar is all quilted!

I decided on stippling for the polka dot areas - a larger stipple than I normally do and it worked out okay, I think.

Then, I did loops around the fruits in the next border:
...and words in the next one.

The quilting for the corners just came to me as I approached after doing a frame around the larger foods in the outside border:

There are cornerstones in the fruit border row, and so I echoed the loops:

I was so excited to have finished the quilting that I took all these photos before removing all the basting pins or trimming any threads at all. Better finish shots to come, obviously, but for now: WOO HOO! It's quilted!!!

  2. There's nothing quite like that feeling of accomplishment when a freshly quilted quilt is yanked out from under the needle, is there? Way to go!

I *love* comments, and I try to respond to every one by email (but I can't if you're a no-reply blogger!). So go on, don't be shy - leave one to let me know you've stopped by!
