5 Minute Skirt

Well, it took more than 5 minutes, but not more than an hour. Not bad for a skirt!

Fabric is Amy Butler - Belle

No photos of me in it - the one I had my assistant take showed a rather embarrassing amount of belly. Not nice.

It's going to be really hot over the next couple of days. My sewing space doesn't have a window, and we're having ventilation issues since our across-the-courtyard neighbour has acquired a chain-smoking roommate (seriously - a cigarette every 15 minutes) whose habit means our place smells like smoke if we open any windows. Bit of a problem with temps going up to 30C and beyond. Anyhoo, that probably means no sewing for a few days. And I can't bear to sit with a quilt on my lap up in our top-floor living space, either, so....really no sewing for a few days.

Better get out my magazines and books!

  1. Great skirt! I love the Amy Butler fabric. Grab a good book and ride out the heat wave. Try making an ice bag and putting it on the back of your neck. Cools you down wonderfully while you're reading!

  2. Cute skirt!! Sorry about your neighbour, that is a huge drag (literally!). We have chain smoking neighbours, too and they are out on their driveway at 6 a.m. puffing away while the smoke wafts up and into our bedroom. So gross.

I *love* comments, and I try to respond to every one by email (but I can't if you're a no-reply blogger!). So go on, don't be shy - leave one to let me know you've stopped by!
