Stashbusting, Too!

I think I'm something of a cautionary tale about building up a stash: I did a lot of purchasing "on spec" for a "someday project" but my tastes have changed somewhat over the years. So while I still like a lot of the fabric just fine, it's probably not what I'd buy today.

So in addition to my 20-minutes-a-day goal, I want to bust my stash by a fair bit.

A touch late (this should've happened last Sunday), I'm joining Judy and the gang over at Patchwork Times and reporting my stash's status each week. For my tracking purposes, fabric cut is fabric used.

Week 1 (ending January 3, 2010)

Used this week: 0.5 m
Used this year to date: 0.5 m
Added this week: 8 m (Year end sale at my LQS!)
Added this year to date: 8 m
Net Stash Busted in 2010: (7.5m)

Above: most of my stash. More stored in The Closet of Shame and too hard to photograph.

Better luck next week!

  1. I started with the 20 minute a day plan. It really does work. Over the years I've increased it to an hour a day. I work outside the home full time and have a teenage son, but it can be done.

I love the closet of shame caption.

I *love* comments, and I try to respond to every one by email (but I can't if you're a no-reply blogger!). So go on, don't be shy - leave one to let me know you've stopped by!
