The Felicities Keep On Coming!

There has been an embarrassment of riches in the Felicity department this week!

First, I received my swap package from the VMQG-FVMQG potholder swap. Am I the only swapper who gets so wrapped up in what I'm making and sending that I sort of forget that I'm going to get something in return? Because I totally do.

Boy howdy did I get something in return. Look at these beauties!

potholders from eryn - received!

You can't see the detail all that well in the photos but I have to tell you, these miniature works of art are beautifully made - from the teeny hand stitches on the binding to the perfect mitered corners, they're just perfect. And this interlocking wonky star pattern is one of my favourites. Nicely done on the swap stalking, Eryn!

And a bonus gift! A set of 8 gorgeous Christmas coasters!

coasters - received!

Thank you, thank you Eryn - I absolutely ADORE what you made me.

But wait, there's more! This past week, The Girl Who Quilts awarded me the Versatile Blogger Award. Thank you, Nikki! You should really go check out her stuff; she's awesome.

You're supposed to share 7 things about yourself so here goes:
1. This year marked the 20th anniversary of my move from Toronto to Vancouver. I've now lived here *nearly* as long as I lived in Toronto.
2. Paying job: banker. Commercial loan-approver to be specific.
3. Considered going by my middle name when I started High School because I feared Felicity was too "different." I longed to have a normal name like everyone else. Very glad I didn't bother - Felicity fits!
4. I have never felt or looked better than I did during the 38.5 weeks I was pregnant.
5. My current favourite TV show is Castle.
6. I love bagpipe music. (No, seriously. I do!)
7. I have no canine teeth - they were extracted to make room for my other (enormous) teeth when I got braces in Grade 5.

And last but certainly not least, I attended a very cool craft show today and scored one of these lovelies:

If that's not enough cure for the Sunday Night Blues, I don't know what is!

  1. wow! you sure did strike it rich! Love those potholders, and yes, I'm just like that too - get so caught up in my creating, I forget someone else is creating for me. Some interesting info there - thanks for sharing. You scored one of Cynthia's birdies! They are the perfect ornament.

  2. So lovely! With bonus coasters. I think we should do swaps more often.

Whoa. Did I just say that? LOLS!

    Happy Sunday to you, too.

  3. Hehe, you're pretty awesome, too!

  4. Nice swap package. Look at those grommets, love it! Looking at those potholders and that interlocking star design, you know what struck me is the sort of wonky whirly-gig design that is formed in the center of the stars, in this case the gray solid. Check it out!

    Have a wonderful week, Felicity.

  5. What beautiful gifts! And it's so nice to learn a bit more about you.

  6. OOOOoooooh! Love those interlocking star potholders! I'm a sucker for that colour combo, too...

    Quite a haul. :-)

  7. So what's your middle name so we can judge whether you did the right thing?!

  8. Oh I totally get wrapped up in swaps like that lol Still, you got some fab things back :o)

  9. They are pretty swaps! Congratulations on your award :)

  10. Love the potholders! I may have to give grommets a try! I can totally see those whirly-gigs Heather!

  11. Those potholders are awesome! I do the same thing with swaps too- and lucky me I got potholders from you!! Heehee! And thank you so much again for giving a wee birdie a new home! & It was so great to meet you in person!

  12. I'm so glad you love your potholders. I know they're going to a good home. They were made to be used!!

  13. Score on the potholders!! Woohoo. Oh my we have so much in common (well, except for the canine teeth, that's just weird. How the heck do you tear a rib off the bone?) I also visited Cynthia and bought a birdie (blue, what colour did you get?) and we LOVE Castle!!! Previews for tonight look downright creepy. Can't wait!

  14. i also adore the bagpipes!, seriously i do. there is just something about them. haunting but proud, and i went to "scotch college" so they take me back to school days.

  15. Oh, you did so well, they are really gorgeous!

plus...I love Castle - we are a little behind you guys but they show it here in the middle of the night and we record and keep for our Friday night viewing, for which it is absolutely perfect.

Sorry, nerdy moment of excitement there, lol!

  16. Beautiful potholders! And I love bagpipe music too. I've already started planting ideas in my 3-year old son's head about playing the bagpipes when he's older. A mother can dream, can't she?

  17. Wow, those pot holders are really perfect!!!

I hope you have a great week!

  18. Great swap package! And I'm with you on Castle. But I'm threatening to demote it if they don't stop with the reruns!

  19. Oh, snap! Not a rerun! Glad my TiVo is smarter than I am.

  20. Those potholders are brilliant. Wow, you lucky thing you. Congrats on the award too, way to go Felicity!

I cry EVERY time I hear bagpipe music. There's something so lamenting about it. I love it.

  21. those potholders are so awesome! lucky you.

  22. Loved learning more about you. I'm glad you chose "Felicity!"

I *love* comments, and I try to respond to every one by email (but I can't if you're a no-reply blogger!). So go on, don't be shy - leave one to let me know you've stopped by!
