Pink Dilemma

In my other post about the New Wave quilt, I asked for some advice about adding some pink to the quilt. Thank you for your great feedback!

I've got two more photos where I've added some pink in both of the manners I suggested - a full row of pink, and some pink sashing.

I think I am actually preferring the pink row as opposed to the pink sashing. To clarify, I was thinking of just a couple of rows of the pink sashing, with the rest of the sashing rows in the original white.

What say you?

  1. I'm with you, Felicity. I love the pink row, but the pink sashing feels like too much maybe. I hope this helps :)

  2. Yep, I agree. I like the pink row, but not the pink sashing as much. It's turning out cute.

  4. I think the pink row only ... the sashing distracts ... and the pink row really makes the pink butterflies pop! Fun!

  5. I agree - love the top photo! Great job!

  6. I like the idea of one pink row and all white sashing, myself. But only because you asked. You did ask, right?

  7. I agree with everyone, go for the pink row! Looks great!

  8. Again, agreeing with the crowd - pink row, white sashing. Can't wait to see it finished.

  9. I actually like the pink sashing and the pink row - I just would do them further apart.

  10. Love the pink row! I prefer that option to the sashing. This is going to be a gorgeous quilt!!

  11. I like the pink sashing AND the pink row as they are, and would actually add another pink sashing, down farther towards the bottom.

  12. i agree with many others. i think the pink row is spot on. the pink sashing isn't working for me.

  13. I like the pink row better. I made a new wave this week, too!

  14. I like the pink row best too. And not the sashing as pink as much. I really actually like this without sashing at all.

  15. I like the pink row and the white sashing. The pink sashing kind of looks like a bra. Am I crazy? Probably.

  16. Agree with the majority... pink row looks great, ditch the sashing :)

  17. Have you chosen a binding for this one yet? Maybe if you don't do the pink sash, you can bind it with that pink. I love the new wave quilt. Good job!

  18. I'm thinking a couple of thin strips of pink sashing is better than a solid chunk. But go with your most comfortable inclination.

  19. Don't know why, but the one with the sashing reminds me of a bra! I like the solid regular block w/o sashing....

  20. I think doing the pink row is much more of a wow factor than the pink sashing! :)

  21. It seems like almost everyone is in agreement! Maybe add one or two more pink rows, but no pink sashing. (Although I kind of agree with the comment about no sashing, but that's my personal preference.) And I would definitely use pink for the binding!

  22. Nice one! Go for the pink row, it's a great idea. Just maybe a pick a pink with less value, ie less saturated? It's hard to see in the pictures what the pink in the butterflies is, but the pink you've got in there now is pretty intense. Also, when I do my new waves, I try to leave the space between the rows for the sashing when I'm laying it out - I find it gives a better idea of the final product. It's amazing what fabrics you can put "side by side" when there's a white band inbetween!

  23. What about leaving out the pink row and adding narrow pink sashing between all the rows? Just an idea:)

  24. I like the pink row rather than the sashing. What about a pink border?

  25. I'm digging the pink row! +1 for the pink binding, too!

  26. Are you adding a border too? Pink would be a good color to bring it all together.

  27. I said on your last post that I think I'd prefer the pink sashing, but I am loving the look of the pink row! That pink is gorgeous!
