Christmas Gifts - The Tree Skirt

I did get the Tree Skirt pieced - a total of about an hour. LOVE this block. It's quick, modern and makes an effective quilt. What's not to like?

What do you think of the name Christmas Gifts? Someone at my guild meeting said it looked like Christmas presents, and it's true!

It'll finish at 36" square. A little small, but it should cover the tree stand and that's all I need.

Another artsy shot. The light is lovely this morning - it's overcast, and there was a little bit of snow on the ground (practically a state of emergency here in Vancouver where it snows maybe three times a year).

I'm kind of a little sad about cutting a hole in this! Maybe I need a different tree skirt. SOMEBODY STOP ME I HAVE ENOUGH WIPS ALREADY!

  1. Love the name. And after getting brave to cut into my stack of Flea Market Fancy this weekend, I say cut, cut, CUT! How brave of me...

  2. Christmas Gifts is the perfect name for this tree skirt! Isn't it amazing how quickly some projects can come together? I hope that happens for me because I haven't yet decided on fabric or a pattern, but I want to make a tree skirt for this year!

  3. The name is great!! Just take a deep breath and cut away! You will be glad that you did when you see it shining under your Christmas tree!!

  4. Do it! Just cut it and get it under the tree. You'll be so happy! It's snowing again here on the north shore. Yippee!

I *love* comments, and I try to respond to every one by email (but I can't if you're a no-reply blogger!). So go on, don't be shy - leave one to let me know you've stopped by!
